Simple and elegant, the striped pattern of this furoshiki represents a quintessential Japanese design. The diagonal blue and white stripes are flanked by solid navy blue. When you fold your item with this wrapping cloth, it actually reveals a deceptively more complex pattern. The design is also perfect for those who want something minimalistic and nothing too elaborate.

The 50 x 50cm size is ideal to wrap your 1 and 2 tiered bento boxes. But uses of furoshiki extend well beyond just wrapping lunch boxes. Use it as a reusable gift wrap, a gorgeous table cloth, or for wrapping household items (like tissue boxes) to elevate your home decor. The material has been woven by cotten shantung, giving it a unique and luxurious feel.

I love the Hama Monyo designs

This was my very first purchase from Ken, and I absolutely love it. Thank you Ken.

The navy in this cloth has a depth of indigo to it, that is reminiscent of traditional Japanese indigo that you see in hand dyed cloth. This cloth is not hand dyed, but when you wrap it around a bento or a lunchbox, it looks like it should've been.

I plan on purchasing more of the Hama Monyo designs in future.

Thank you so much for your feedback! The Hama Monyo designs (same initials as you :) ) are really very beautiful and the Shima one you bought is one of my favourites as it incorporates the traditional Tokusa (stripes) pattern. Please enjoy! Ken
