Shippou is a classical pattern in Japan, made by overlapping circles on four sides to form a diamond shape with a rounded center. When this pattern is joined on all four sides ('Shihou'), the circles appear connected and is said to represent infinite connections between people and the growth of a family through descendants. Shippou is a Buddhist term referring to seven treasures, and it is said that 'Shihou' was eventually spoken as 'Shippou' and combined with the meaning of the seven treasures.

On this beautiful furoshiki, sakura flowers are centred in each circle of the Shippou pattern. The deep purple background makes each circle really stand out to create a visually stunning piece. Perfect for wrapping gifts or your bento box, or as part of your home decor (use a tapestry hanger rod).
