This absolutely beautiful furoshiki is dressed in red and beige Japanese plum (also called Japanese apricot) flowers against a back drop of what tree-like branches and pink dots. Because of its large size it can be used to wrap any size of bento box but is perfect for the larger picnic bento boxes. More about the pattern

Yumeji Takehisa was a famous painter from the Taisho period (1912-1926) in Japan. He was popular for his bold patterns and pop colours in his designs, and is considered a pioneer of Japanese graphic design. This furoshiki borrows some concepts from his work, and was designed in mind with wrapping flowers like Japanese plum, dandelions and roses. The bright colour blends surprisingly very well with many different items.

Nice furoshiki

After gifting the first large furoshiki I purchased I wanted one for myself and chose this, slightly smaller one. It is a nice item, however, it should be noted that the pattern does not cover the entire cloth, it’s quite sparse along one edge, showing more of the background colour (see photo 2 provided by the website). I did not notice this before the purchase (I prefer even pattern) but I’m still happy with the item.

Thanks so much Maria for your feedback, and glad you still like the furoshiki. Yes that is part of the design with the spacing and some background without any pattern. I should actually put up a photo of the full furoshiki so customers have a better idea, so apologies for the lack of info. Thanks again!
